H.E. Excellency Fahad Saeed Al Raqbani

Biography

His Excellency Fahad Saeed Al Raqbani presented his credentials to Her Excellency the Right Honourable Julie Payette, Governor General of Canada on January 29, 2018; installing him as UAE’s fourth Ambassador to Canada.

Ambassador Al Raqbani brings a wealth of experience from serving at the highest levels within UAE’s investment and economic development sector.

His Excellency has held leadership positions with Mubadala Investment Company, the sovereign wealth fund of Abu Dhabi, with a $226 U.S. billion portfolio, spanning into at least 30 countries, to the Abu Dhabi Council for Economic Development, where he spearheaded several economic diversification and sustainability initiatives.

Since His Excellency has been posted to Canada, the UAE and Canada have further developed their strong bilateral relationship - from Canada removing the visa requirement for all UAE nationals to travel to Canada, signing a MOU on Joint Space Cooperation, expanding the bilateral air transport agreement, and concluding negotiations toward an agreed Foreign Investment Promotion & Protection Agreement (FIPA).
