Maria Vorobieva brings extensive experience in international affairs, global trade and public relations, renewable energy, worldwide media operations and serves as an Associate Vice President, International Public Affairs at SkyPower. In this capacity, Maria is responsible for activities relating to corporate communications and international relations. Maria oversees all aspects of SkyPower outreach initiatives to enhance government, public relations and global partnerships. This includes strategic planning, sustainability and adhering to SDGs. On behalf of SkyPower Maria also maintains the relationship with United Nations Global Compact in New York, UN Energy Compact, and UN CFO Taskforce. Before joining SkyPower in 2004, Maria worked for the Government of Canada as Senior Regional Advisor, Multiculturalism to the Minister of Citizenship and Immigration. In this capacity, Maria fostered relationships with representatives of diverse Canadian and international communities. Prior to her assignment with the Federal Government of Canada, she held the office of Vice President of Business Development at Ethnic Channels Group (ECG), a large television broadcasting company specializing in multicultural television channels in North America, as well as in Toronto and Development and Fundraising Director of Russian Children’s Welfare Society (RCWS) in New York. Maria holds a Master of Arts degree in Public Administration from St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas and a Bachelor of Arts degree with majors in Education and Linguistics from Northern (Arctic) Federal University in Arkhangelsk, Russia.
