Dear CABC Members and Friends,
The Canada Arab Business Council extends its condolences to those who have been affected by the explosion that took place in Beirut on August 4th.
Canada and Lebanon have always maintained a very strong relationship. The Lebanese community is one of the largest Arab ethnic groups in Canada, contributing immensely to the strength of our diversity and society through its entrepreneurial people, culture, language and food.
For many years, the Canada Arab Business Council has partnered with Lebanese-Canadian businesses and organizations in helping to promote trade and investment between Canada and the Arab world. We also maintain connections to the Trade Commissioner Services in Beirut and the Lebanese Embassy in Ottawa.
The economic and human impact of the explosion has had a devastating effect on the people of Lebanon, especially in the midst of this pandemic. In response to this crisis, the CABC is encouraging its members and friends to donate to the relief efforts in Lebanon to help provide the much-needed assistance to its people.
The CABC supports the following organizations to receive your kind donations, knowing that they will ensure to put your funds to the best use in support of the people of Beirut:
The Lebanese Canadian Coalition
Any amount would be welcomed and appreciated by the people of Lebanon. Thank you for taking the time to read this appeal and for your consideration.
Sincerely yours,
Scott Jolliffe, Chair of the CABC
Cathy Seguin, Executive Director and President of the CABC
