Canada Arab Business Council recently invited Marie-France Paquet, Chief Economist and Director General of the Trade Analysis Bureau at Global Affairs Canada to present on Canada’s Economic Recovery & Trade with the MENA Region.
Interesting highlights include:
- Finance & Insurance, Retail, Information and Real Estate are some of the sectors that have witnessed growth in Canada.
- Goods Trade has mostly returned to pre-covid levels, while services trade has seen little recovery.
- Canada-MENA region merchandise trade has remained steady since 2015.
- Canada’s top 2020 Merchandise trade with the MENA region includes agricultural, automotive & aircrafts, machinery, precious metals.
