I am pleased to present the President’s Report for the Canadian Arab Business Council (CABC) covering the past year of our organization’s operations. As we celebrate our 40th anniversary in 2023, I am delighted to share the remarkable successes we have achieved in promoting bilateral relationships and partnerships between Canada and the MENA region.
To kick off our anniversary celebrations, we organized a sold-out and highly enthusiastic gala event on May 29th. This event brought together influential leaders from both Canada and the MENA region, providing a platform for networking, collaboration, and fostering new business opportunities. The gala event served as a testament to the strength and vibrancy of our organization.
Building upon the momentum of the gala, we hosted an impressive Business Forum on May 30th. The forum featured esteemed speakers, industry experts, and thought leaders who shared valuable insights on the economic landscape, trade opportunities, and investment prospects between Canada and the MENA region. The forum proved to be a significant gathering, facilitating meaningful discussions, and forging new connections for our members.
One notable achievement during the past year is the advocating CABC has done, along with other associations, in resuming relations between Canada and Saudi Arabia. This positive development will reopen substantial trade and investment opportunities for our members. We will be actively fostering ties with key stakeholders, facilitating dialogue, knowledge exchange, and collaborations that will undoubtedly lead to enhanced economic growth and mutual benefits.
In line with our mission to build stronger ties between Canada and the MENA region, we have been dedicated to expanding our membership base at all levels. Our focus has been on attracting associate (start-up), corporate, and patron members who can contribute to our organization’s growth and success. We firmly believe that by growing our membership, we can create more extensive networks and foster increased business opportunities for our members.
Looking ahead, we are committed to capitalizing on the achievements of the past year and utilizing the rest of 2023 to further strengthen our organization. We will continue to actively promote bilateral relationships and partnerships between Canada and the MENA region, seeking out new avenues for collaboration, trade, and investment.
In conclusion, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to our dedicated members, board of directors, and the CABC team for their unwavering support and commitment. It is through your efforts that we have achieved these remarkable successes. Together, let us seize the opportunities that lie ahead and propel the Canadian Arab Business Council to even greater heights.
