Second Quarter & AGM 2025

June 10, 2025by admin

As we reach the midpoint of 2025, I am pleased to share this message with you during an important milestone in our calendar — our Annual General Meeting.

This second quarter has been one of continued momentum and opportunity. Through our collective efforts, the Canada Arab Business Council (CABC) has expanded its impact, fostering new partnerships and facilitating tangible trade and investment connections between Canada and the dynamic markets of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

Our recent Business Forum reinforced how deeply Canadian companies are engaged in the region’s priority sectors — from energy transition and critical minerals to ICT, infrastructure, healthcare, and education. We are seeing not only an increase in business delegations and bilateral discussions, but also in collaborative innovation and sustainable investment.

Looking ahead, we remain committed to delivering value for our members by:

  • Deepening sectoral dialogues through targeted roundtables and missions
  • Building on strategic alliances with government and private sector partners across MENA
  • Expanding our member services, including advisory support and bespoke market intelligence
  • Amplifying Canada’s capabilities through joint promotion in high-growth sectors

The AGM is a time to both reflect and renew. I want to express my deepest thanks to our Board of Directors, our corporate and patron members, and all of our partners for their trust and engagement. Together, we continue to position CABC as Canada’s leading platform for advancing bilateral trade and investment with the MENA region.

As we move into the next half of the year, I invite each of you to stay connected and active — your involvement is critical as we shape new opportunities and deliver even greater outcomes for our members and for Canada-MENA relations.

I hope to see you at our special Chair’s networking reception on June 18 from 5:00-7:30pm at the Rideau Club in Ottawa. This will be an exciting event as we recognize a new government, post Trump 100 days, and the G7 meeting at Kananaskis, Alberta. The theme is Canada and the Arab World at the Crossroads of Opportunity.

With appreciation,

Cathy Séguin
President/Executive Director
