Iraq was one of Canada’s largest trading partners in the MENA region before the wars. Today, despite the economic downturn, the low price of oil, COVID19 and other security concerns, Iraq is a new emerging market with significant commercial opportunities for Canadian businesses in many sectors.
The Canada Arab Business Council (CABC), in collaboration with the Republic of Iraq Embassy in Ottawa and Canada’s Trade Commissioner Service with offices in Baghdad and Erbil, will host the webinar featuring senior government and industry experts who will provide an economic update on Iraq and discuss bilateral trade and investment opportunities and successes.
In 2021-2022, Canadian commercial opportunities in Iraq will be mainly in:
• Oil, gas and petrochemicals;
• Cleantech (power generation);
• Infrastructure and Construction;
• Agriculture and processed foods;
• Education and Training;
• Pharmaceutical products;
• Vehicles, machinery and consumer goods.
